THE ONE AND ONLY, RAYMOND STRIFE
Raymond Strife
Trenton, New Jersey's "Pizza God."
Trenton, New Jersey Rapper Raymond Strife is too old to keep rapping. He doesn't care. He's doing it anyway. After twenty years of fronting bands and doing solo rap shows he's not as jaded as he should be, but he's close. Jersey to the core, Strife is know for being polite off stage while being rowdy and aggressive yet somehow still cool on stage. Pulling influence from a broad range of artists that goes from Salt-N-Pepa to the Circle Jerks, his style comes off completely original and is hard to compare to anyone else. Ray stands out as a human representation of when keeping it real goes horribly wrong but he's always trying to do better. He raps about ego and low self-esteem simultaneously, being drunk and on drugs, being sober, punk shows, comic books and horror movies, often in the same song. Being serious but never taking himself too seriously, being funny but never a parody. The guy's a walking paradox.
Known in the past for fronting hardcore bands such as "Crack filler" and "Over Everything" while also founding the rap crew "DKFG" he is now currently gearing up to start doing solo live performances again this spring, something he hasn't done since the early covid lock downs. Before that he was playing shows constantly for most of his life. He recently released his new single "Wolves" produced and recorded by Sketchisms. Sketchisms has filmed many of Strife's music videos in the past such as "Ugh" and "Lucille" but this is his first time on the production.
At the end of the day, Ray is working on improving his life. Balancing a blue collar job with trying to make time to still be creative. It's the American Dream.
